Exploring the Barriers against Using Cryptocurrencies in Managing Construction Supply Chain Processes

Various stakeholders are involved in managing supply chain processes construction. Suppliers can hardly tolerate upfront costs when faced with flaws the payment pipeline. This is a serious problem building construction that uses large variety of materials as opposed to civil requires fewer types materials. Alternative secure systems needed, and use cryptocurrencies be an option. However, seldom used projects due several challenges mostly ignored existing literature. To fill this gap, study investigates chains alternative solution improve financial performance by taking advantage economical traceable transaction system. The involves exploratory, descriptive, empirical survey research. Accordingly, literature review, focus group discussions, statistical analyses (Friedman test, Wilcoxon Mann–Whitney U test) were performed. results imply lack technical knowledge about cryptocurrencies, fluctuations value limited market opportunities, security gaps, personal information required cryptocurrency systems, no assurance permanent use, government actions limiting most significant barriers against using management. findings expected provide critical professionals regulatory agencies potential advantages shortcomings hence motivating policymakers create strategies minimize concerns industry.
